UEFA give green light to Qatar's proposed Man United takeover
The UEFA is set to allow Qatar to launch a full bid to purchase Manchester United despite the fact that they own Paris Saint-Germain, reports the Daily Mail.
The majority stake in PSG is held by QSI - Qatar Sports Investment - for the last 12 years.
However, the UEFA is willing to recognise the Qatar Investment Authority - QIA - as a separate entity that could potentially own United.
QIA also holds PSG shares but they are not a controlling partner. That allows the Qatar Investment Authority to become the sole owner of the Red Devils.
The Emir of Qatar is expected to table an initial bid of around £4.5 billion to begin negotiations with the Glazers. The soft deadline for all bids is February 17 (Friday).
