'They give you condoms and vaseline': ex-Barca president Rosell narrates his experience in Spanish prison
Former Barcelona president Sandro Rosell has narrated his harrowing ordeal during the 645 days he spent in prison back in 2017.
In his chat as quoted by Marca, Rosell claimed he was given condoms and vaseline upon entering prison.
"When you go to prison, they give you a bag of condoms and vaseline [petroleum jelly]. I found out why.
"There are lots of homosexual relationships in prison, including for non-homosexual people."
"The prison is dull, a bit stinky but at times, you find lots of humanity in there. It's a clash of emotions, colours, sadness -- even smiles.
"I've always tried to keep my head cool and before prison, I can't recall having cried. But there [in prison], I cried a few times like a baby."
Rosell was charged for money laundering and buying TV rights for previous matches but was later acquitted after a trial and set free.
Recently, former Barcelona defender Dani Alves has been put in prison pending his trial for allegedly raping a young woman in a Barcelona nightclub. Perhaps Alves knows a thing or two of what Rosell is saying.
