'They deserve relegation for this alone': United fans react to City unfurling banner in tribute to... their lawyer

Man City fans unveiled a bizarre banner in today's game against Villa. The banner read 'Pannick on the streets of London', referencing The Smiths' song and Lord Pannick KC, who was appointed to defend the club after the Premier League charged them with financial breaches.

'They deserve relegation for this alone': United fans react to City unfurling banner in tribute to... their lawyer

It's safe to say that many United fans are not impressed by the banner.

Cloe-MT: "No banners for their football legends but their lawyers"

Random Rob: "That banner is as good as the club and fans - Plastic."

Robin Hood: "Just like the club - focussing mostly on off-field matters. It must be dire being a MCFC fan - your team can only win by cheating and, in your best form in history, you still can’t sell out any games."

United Peoples TV: "They deserve relegation for this alone, never mind the 100+ FFP charges, fraud and cheating."

Scott Patterson: "I’m so embarrassed to come from the same city as this lot. Don’t show Manchester up like this ffs.

"Please boot them out of the league and make them irrelevant again so the world doesn’t view Mancs like this. Honestly, some of us are normal, I swear!"

James Finbow: "Forget the rest. This is the worst thing Man City have done."

GKW: "I joked the other day that every other clubs fans has the players as their legends but at City it’s lawyers. Still didn’t think we’d ever see a lawyers name held up on a banner at a football match though."
