"The rules would see them be relegated": reporter who broke Man City story gives verdict on allegations
On Monday, The Times reporter Martyn Ziegler broke the news about Premier League's investigation into Manchester City's financial rules breaches.
Speaking to talkSPORT later, he said: "Of course Man City should be worried. Nothing like this has happened before in Premier league history.
"[The allegations are] across 14 seasons. Nine seasons of breaching financial regulations and five seasons of not cooperating with investigations.
"It does not get more serious than this. Even if half of the allegations of them are proven to be true, the rules would see them be relegated."
Pep Guardiola's side are accused of rule breaches between 2009 and 2018 as well as of not cooperating with the investigation from the start of 2018.
