Potter not under extra pressure to get immediate results after January transfer spree
According to The Guardian's Jacob Steinberg, one of the top Chelsea reporters, Graham Potter is not under any additional pressure to get results this season, despite an unprecedented transfer spree.
In two transfer windows since the Todd Boehly-led consortium completed the takeover of the club, Chelsea bought 16 players and loaned two more. The clearout, meanwhile, has only just started with Jorginho's move to Arsenal.
This means that Potter needs time to mould the bloated squad into a winning team.
There's acceptance that the Blues might miss out on the Champions League, as they are currently 10 points outside the top four.
Still, the owners want to give Potter a full pre-season to build the team that would be competitive in the long term.
