“Please make it stop” – Even some Newcastle fans are cringing at ‘horrific’ Carabao Cup final song before Man Utd clash
A Newcastle United fan has come up with a new song ahead of the Carabao Cup this weekend.
On Sunday, Eddie Howe’s Magpies will take on Manchester United at Wembley as both teams battle for the rights to become the Carabao Cup winners.
For Newcastle, this is a huge chance to end the club’s 54-year wait for a trophy, whilst United have a chance to end their own six-year trophy drought.
Ahead of the match, a Newcastle fan has come up with a new song to celebrate the club’s achievement of reaching the final. You can watch the footage below.

Fans were quick to react to the song.
One fan said: “This is the worst thing I’ve ever heard.”
Another tweeted: “Why can’t football fans just be normal nowadays.”
A third fan added: “Please make it stop !!!”
Someone else wrote: “Please cancel the final and award the trophy to MUFC @Carabao_Cup.”
Whilst a fifth person commented: “Pretty embarrassing as far as I can see.”
The song referenced their last trophy which was won in 1955, whilst famous quotes from the likes of Dan Burn and Paul Gascoigne also got mentioned.
Ahead of the final, Newcastle boss Howe is facing a selection headache as first-choice goalkeeper Nick Pope is banned after his red card against Liverpool, whilst backup keeper Martin Dubravka is cup-tied after playing for United in the earlier rounds.
This means that former Liverpool stopper Loris Karius is set to play in goal on Sunday.
On the German, Howe said: “He’s trained with our goalkeeper coaches in a really, really good way, and I think his general performances at training have improved as he’s spent more time with us.
“I think he’s in a good place and I think he’s ready to play.”
Who will lift the first trophy of the season this weekend? Only time will tell.
