'No. 9 position is not the problem': Chelsea legend dismisses claims that team is struggling due to lack of good striker

Former Chelsea striker Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink was on Sky Sports to discuss his ex-club's horrific form.

With Chelsea not having a solid out and out striker in the team, there have been claims that the Blues have struggled due to it.

Hasselbaink believes that is not the case and looked towards teams like Man City and Arsenal for examples of sides doing well without a striker previously.

"I don’t think the No. 9 position is the problem, even though I was a No. 9. You look at Manchester City last season, they didn’t have a No. 9, and Arsenal this season, they are top of the league and didn’t have a No.9.

"The problem is the players around them are not creating enough opportunities."
