Mason Mount's Chelsea future 'in doubt' amid contract stalemate

Mason Mount's future at Chelsea is in doubt as the two parties still can't reach an agreement over a new deal, according to the Daily Mail.

The 24-year-old rejected the latest contract offer as it was significantly below what he expected.

It's claimed that Mount wants to treble £80,000-a-week wages which would be in line with the deal Reece James signed back in September. However, the club reportedly offers him much less.

The player is less sure about his future at the club after a massive transfer spree and reports that the Blues might have to sell some of their academy graduates to deal with the Financial Fair Play.

Mount's poor form is not helping the matter. Since October 16, he has registered only one direct goal contribution, scoring against Bournemouth in a 2-0 win on December 27.
