Martial Equals BECKHAM'S Record With Goal Against Forest

Anthony Martial’s second-half strike versus Nottingham Forest means he is now one of Manchester United’s top 25 all-time scorers, equalling David Beckham's tally of 85 goals for the club.

The Frenchman was introduced just after the hour-mark against Steve Cooper’s side, alongside Marcus Rashford and the returning Jadon Sancho, and just 10 minutes after joining the fray he was on the scoresheet.

Casemiro unleashed the striker in behind and when Rashford’s shot was deflected into his path, he made no mistake to fire a left-footed strike into the bottom corner.

The goal made it 1-0 on the night, in a match where chances were at a premium, and 4-0 on aggregate.

A further goal from Fred came shortly after, and 2-0 is how it stayed, setting up a Carabao Cup final with Newcastle United on Sunday 26 February.

Martial’s appearance versus Forest was his first since the first half of our Manchester derby triumph in January, and his 283rd for the club overall.
