Man Utd now favorite ahead of Arsenal to win the Europa League following R16 draw

Man Utd have now overtaken Arsenal as favourites to win the Europa League following R16 draw.

Manchester United are now favourites with the bookmakers to win the Europa League in the 2022/23 season.

Erik ten Hag guided his team to victory against La Liga leaders Barcelona in stunning fashion on Thursday night.

After going a goal down, the Red Devils fought back under the Old Trafford lights to claim a 2-1 victory and progress thanks to a 4-3 aggregate win.

Anthony, Ten Hag's biggest summer recruit, scored the winner, and in doing so he catapulted his club into favourtism for the tournament.

That's even despite Premier League front-runners Arsenal still remaining in the competition.

The Gunners in particular look like they could be in for a tough battle after drawing Sporting Lisbon.

Sitting fourth in the Portuguese top-flight, they haven't enjoyed the stellar season their fans are accustomed to domestically, however, that will only serve to drive their hunger to secure a result against Mikel Arteta's men.

United, meanwhile, will play Real Betis. The Spanish club will be no pushover given they currently occupy fifth place in La Liga, narrowly behind Atletico Madrid, but United will be big favourites to progress to the quarter-finals nonetheless.

Elsewhere, Juventus will take on Freiburg. The out of form club might need to win the competition to be playing in the Champions League next season based off their current league position of seventh.

Roma, though, will be slightly more encouraged about their chances domestically with Jose Mourinho having led them to third place as things stand, they will take on Real Sociedad.
