Laporta: 'We've saved Barcelona from financial ruins'
"We've signed players for €215m and sold for €141m, we made a competitive team for €74m," Fabrizio Romano quotes Joan Laporta saying.
"We’ve reduced the wage bill by around €100m, and so we’re planning to reduce another €70m. We’ve saved Barcelona from financial ruin, yes."
Laporta was highly critical of Barca's financial state when he took charge of the club, so to see him be this positive about our finances now means that things have really improved.
However, this did not happen without certain concessions as the Catalans had to say goodbye to Leo Messi and sealed parts of the club for several years.
