Klopp: 'We are the club who shows how you can deal with difficult moments'

"The atmosphere was outstanding tonight. I am in love with our crowd, what they did tonight was very special and was extremely helpful. It was a real derby," Jurgen Klopp told Sky Sports after the game.

"We played the game we wanted to play tonight and not the game Everton wanted to play.

"I saw a real unit tonight - everybody was fighting - really fighting - we scored two sensational counter-attacks. Tonight we were there and that is the sign for what we have to do moving forward.

"I really thougnt the performance for the full 96 minutes was the best for a while.

"The way you behave defines the future - we are the club who shows how you can deal with difficult moments. Tonight the crowd were absolutely special."

Liverpool did extremely well against Everton, putting in an excellent performance and scoring two goals through blistering counter-attacks. This is a win that the Reds badly needed — their first in 2023 — and hope it kicks off the lads' season.
