Kalidou Koulibaly's 'failure to settle in London' affected his performance

According to reporter Simon Phillips, Kalidou Koulibaly's performances for Chelsea have been affected by his struggles away from the pitch.

"I'm told that he's failed to settle in London, at the moment, and that's been the biggest problem for him," Phillips told GiveMeSport.

"It's affected his form, his mentality and his confidence. You can see it all on the pitch when he does get picked."

Koulibaly has lost a regular starting place at Chelsea. He has not played for the Blues for almost a month, since a 12-minute cameo in a 1-0 win over Crystal Palace on January 15.

In his absence, Benoit Badiashile has established himself as a credible starting option - but as he has not been registered for the Champions League, Koulibaly could get a chance to play against Borussia Dortmund this Wednesday.
