'Judas', 'Send him back to Austria': Why did Madrid fans launch 'Alaba out' hashtag? It has to do with Benzema

The Real Madrid fans launched an #AlabaOut hashtag as the national teams captains' votes for the FIFA BEST emerged online.

Apparently, Davi Alaba put his teammate Karim Benzema only second, favouring Lionel Messi who went on to eventually win the award.

It caused an uproar from the supporters with many wanting the Austrian out of the club. Some even stooped to insults, calling him Judas.

They also stormed in his comments section on Instagram.

While Alaba's decision is questionable, the fanbase is clearly overreacting.
