Investigation into Man City's FFP breaches to be headed by a lawyer who is an Arsenal fan
The legal proceedings - which are likely to be drawn out over several months - will be overseen by Murray Rosen KC, the head of the Premier League's Judicial Panel, who himself is an avid Arsenal fan and club member.
As head of the panel, it will be up to Rosen to decide who will join him on the commission that will ultimately decide whether Manchester City are guilty of any wrongdoing and in turn, attribute any retrospective punishment to the club.
Man City have been charged by the Premier League with 'numerous breaches' of financial rules. The charges come after a four-year investigation by the league.
The charges relate to breaches of financial rules over a nine-year period. The club are accused of failing to provide accurate financial information relating to sponsorship revenue, operating costs, payment of wages among other financial wrongdoings.
Possible sanctions Man City could face
If Rosen and Co deem Manchester City to be guilty of such wrongdoings, then a range of sanctions could be applied to the club.
Possible sanctions range from suspension from competing in league matches to potential expulsion to the Premier League.
◉ Suspension from playing games
◉ Point deductions
◉ Replay matches
◉ Expulsion from the league
◉ Compensation
◉ Cancel or refuse players registration
◉ Conditional punishment

◉ Make such other order as it thinks fit
