'I'm not a player who sends messages to the coach': Alba reacts to goal and assist v Sevilla

Jordi Alba is no longer a regular starter for Xavi but the left-back has shown that class is permanent as he contributed with a goal and an assist in the latest game against Sevilla.

After the match, the reporters asked whether this was a message he wanted to send Xavi.

"I'm not the type of player that sends messages to the coach. When I play, I take advantage of the minutes I get, and when I don't play, I try my best to support the team and help the youngsters understand what it means to play for this club," the left-back said.

Alba also commented on the eight-point gap between Barcelona and Real Madrid.

"We are having a great season, playing really well, pressing really well and stopping our rivals from creating chances. We are eight points ahead but the league season is long and there's much left," Jordi added.
