'I was just making jokes': Messi's brother issues apology to following nasty words against Barcelona and fans

"I want to apologise for what I said on social networks: I was just making jokes with my son and my friends. How am I going to think that of a club as big as Barcelona and their history, which has given a lot both to my family and Leo?" Lionel Messi's brother Matias wrote on Instagram.

"For us, Catalonia is our second home and that is well known. I'm very sorry and I apologise to everyone, especially the Barcelona fans. Finally, I want to say that I'm only on the Instagram social network," he added.

Matias' recent words still seem suspicious even despite the apology. He said lots of nasty things about the club; even if those were jokes, they were quite poor.

As a reminder, Leo's relative claimed that Barcelona would not be known worldwide if not for his brother. He also made it clear that Leo will not come back to the club.
