" I needed to disconnect from everything": Pique explains why he hasn't congratulated Messi on World Cup win

In his interview with John Nellis on Youtube, Gerard Pique was asked whether he had congratulated former Barcelona teammate Leo Messi on his World Cup win.

"No, honestly no. I have had a difficult couple of months and I needed to disconnect from everything. I haven't watched any sports, not even the World Cup, only the final. And even then, not the full match," the former defender said. (h/t Mundo Deportivo)

There might be another reason for it, though. Reports have it that the relationship between Messi and Pique broke after Leo's departure from Camp Nou.

As per reports at the time, Gerard was one of the driving forces behind Messi's exit as he convinced Joan Laporta to stop his efforts of trying to keep the Argentine.
