'How is that not a penalty?' Arsenal fans fume over key referee decision v Everton
Arsenal fans have called out officials for failing to award a penalty for Neal Maupay's tackle on Gabriel in the Premier League clash with Everton.
The Frenchman appeared to have tripped Gabriel in the box during the closing stages of the game but the referee gave a free-kick against the visitors.
Joe Krishnan Said: "Not sure how that’s not a penalty. Maupay uses the leg to block off Gabriel, not playing the ball."
Sham Said: "Neal Maupay tripped Gabriel inside the Everton penalty box while the ball was in play, why haven’t you given a penalty for that @FA_PGMOL??"
FG Said: "Deliberate shove and kick by Maupay to make sure Gabriel doesn’t win the ball. Free kick to Everton."
Dr Stevie Said: "Ok so the official just gave Everton a free kick in their penalty area for a barge by Nketiah but Maupay did the same thing to Gabriel in the same penalty area and nothing was given… These are things that irk me".
Adam Samuel Said: "That's a pen!? Maupay trips Gabriel!? That's clear as day 😂😂😂 #EVEARS".
Everton defeated Arsenal 1-0, the Gunners second defeat in the Premier League this season.
