'He'll play his games. We need him': Ten Hag on Maguire

"He will play his games, definitely. We need him," Erik ten Hag told the press when asked about Harry Maguire.

"He's a good player but we have competition, top quality in the backline. Nice internal competition and we need that as a team to win games."

Maguire was rather poor in United's 2-0 win against Leeds as his lapses in concentration nearly cost the Red Devils.

The Englishman has made 19 appearances for United so far this season. He was benched in a 2-2 draw against Leeds last week but started in a 2-0 win against the same opponent today.

"They [Maguire & Malacia] played a good game," Ten Hag added in an interview with MUTV.

"Harry defensively and the organisation, and Ty was good with the ball. He stopped Summerville, except for one point, but for the rest he had a very good game."
