Former Newcastle star Nile Ranger has been reported over 'extorting' fans over 100 Carabao Cup final tickets
Former Newcastle star Nile Ranger has been reported for trying to sell 100 Carabao Cup final tickets.
Newcastle are vying to win their first major trophy since 1955 after reaching the final, where they will take on Manchester United.
It's a first Wembley appearance for a long time for the Magpies and demand for tickets has understandably been through the roof
Newcastle have been allocated 32,761 tickets at a range of different prices but Ranger, who made 62 appearances for the Toon, has been advertising them on social media.
The controversial striker claims to have 100 up for grabs, writing on Instagram: "Tickets available Carabao cup. SERIOUS ONLY!!"
He then claimed tickets in the Manchester United were for sale for £1150 and £2150 to be with the Newcastle fans. The ex Blackpool and Southend United man reckons they are market prices but plenty of Newcastle fans are furious with his behaviour.
I wouldn’t ever normally do something like this but I have reported Nile Ranger directly to Club Wembley.

It’s disgusting to see a former Newcastle United with a history of online banking fraud trying to profit off the fans 😡#NUFC pic.twitter.com/FEqPO8zde5
In fact, one decided to report him to Club Wembley over the fleecing, writing: "I wouldn’t ever normally do something like this but I have reported Nile Ranger directly to Club Wembley. It’s disgusting to see a former Newcastle United with a history of online banking fraud trying to profit off the fans."
Another shared the anger, commenting: "Areet @NilePowerRanger. NUFC gave you a chance - which you blew - in football. Why are you fleecing their fans? Is this a reason to boo? And how you do you have so many tickets in the first place? You’d be there legitimately but you had more arrests than brain cells."
A third tweeted: "Nile Ranger advertising Wembley tickets at crazy prices!"
A fourth vented: "Should be ashamed, but doubt he is. Did well out of NUFC and gave very little back."
A fifth fumed: "Imagine trying to milk the people who paid hard-earned money to watch you play. Horrible person!"
In 2017, Rangers was sentenced to eight months in prison after being found guilty of committing online banking fraud.
Wood Green Crown Court heard how Ranger scammed Diane Bloss out of £2,090 in February 2015 after using her bank details to move the money from an HSBC account to a Santander account.
He ended up serving 10 weeks but was released prematurely for good behaviour. In 2007, a 15-year-old Ranger spent time in a young offender institute for his role in an armed robbery.
The 31-year-old also turned out for Barnsley, Sheffield Wednesday and Swindon Town.
