Chelsea owner Todd Boehly has met Paris Saint-Germain to discuss Neymar transfer
Chelsea owner Todd Boehly has reportedly met with PSG’s president to discuss a potential summer deal for Neymar, with Newcastle United also being linked to sign the Brazilian superstar.
According to Le Parisien, the American businessman has met with Nasser Al-Khelaifi over bringing Neymar to west London in the summer in what would be a sensational swoop for Chelsea, who are once again expected to go big on new signings in the upcoming transfer window.
Signed for a world-record fee that still stands today, Neymar is expected to depart PSG at the end of this season with the likes of FC Barcelona and Newcastle being linked to the 31-year-old winger. However, Chelsea have now seemingly entered the fray for the attacker.
With many PSG supporters eager to see Neymar leave, a deal to Chelsea could actually be possible with the Blues one of the few clubs in the world able to offer what the French club will likely want for the winger, though whether or not it will be a good transfer is another question entirely.
Chelsea spent big on Mykhailo Mudryk in January, a player who has both been likened to Neymar and plays in the same left-sided attacking position as the Brazilian international. And signing the footballing great himself would seem counter-productive in Graham Potter’s long-term plan for the Blues.
Indeed, whilst Neymar signing for Chelsea sounds plausible, it’s hard to image the west London side actually bringing the attacker to the Premier League, with Newcastle also a club that are wise enough to not recruit the South American superstar this summer.
