Chelsea offered cut-price deal to make Joao Felix’s loan deal permanent in the summer

In the January transfer window, the Stamford Bridge club secured the loan deal for the Portuguese forward after forking out a reported loan fee of £9.7 million.

Despite getting sent off on his debut against Fulham, Felix was straight back into Graham Potter’s starting eleven for Saturday’s clash against West Ham and scored his first goal for the club.

According to Spanish news outlet Relevo, Chelsea owner Todd Boehly is already weighing up a move to make Felix a permanent signing in the summer.

It has been claimed that Chelsea could seal a deal for the 23-year-old for a fee that is lower than first anticipated.

Boehly is believed to be a fan of the Portugal international and would be looking to build the squad around him.

Atletico were believed to be holding out for a fee of around €130 - €140 million.

However, it has now been reported that a bid of around €100 would be enough for the La Liga club to part ways with Felix.

This is due to the fact that Chelsea have already paid €11 to take Felix for the remainder of the 22/23 campaign, whilst also agreeing to cover all of the forward’s wages for the duration of the loan deal.

In addition, Felix is thought to have built a good relationship with the club, his new teammates and the city of London.

Boehly is believed to be a fan of the Portugal international and would be looking to build the squad around him.

Despite spending big on the likes of Felix, Enzo Fernandez and Mykhailo Mudryk in January, Chelsea’s form has been very disappointing.
