(Video): PSG Players Give Messi A Guard Of Honour After World Cup Glory
Lionel Messi was given a well-deserved guard of honour by his Paris Saint-Germain teammates and staff.
The 35-year-old reported back to Paris having concluded his celebrations after winning the 2022 FIFA World Cup with Argentina.
Messi was granted an extended leave for his heroics and spent the yuletide period in his native Rosario with his family and friends.
Messi's return to training prompted a hero's welcome from his teammates and support staff after inspiring Argentina to World Cup glory.
In a video shared on social media, the former Barcelona talisman gallantly walked in between the guard made by his PSG mates like the champion he is.

He was also presented with a special trophy at the felicitation ceremony, India Today notes. Meanwhile, Messi could take to the pitch for the reigning French champions as soon as January 11 with Thursday's Coupe de France tie against Chateauroux considered too early, owing to his lack of match fitness.
