Ronaldo Auctions His Ballon d’Or As the Richest Man in Israel Wins With €600,000 Bid
Cristiano Ronaldo has auctioned off one of his five Ballon d'Or awards to charity.
The five-time recipient of the most coveted individual diadem in world football reportedly assisted in raising €600,000 for charity by donating a replica of his prize.
According to ESPN, Ronaldo's gesture ensued during a gala hosted by the Make-A-Wish Foundation at London's Dorchester hotel in the United Kingdom last Sunday.
The cherished prize donated was an 'extra' replica which Ronaldo requested when he won the 2013 Ballon d'Or.
Meanwhile, the 'real' award is still currently on show at the CR7's personal museum in Madeira, per MARCA.
Ronaldo last won the Ballon d'Or in 2017 and has been chasing the sixth, which will prove elusive on the back of his transfer to Saudi giants Al-Nassr.
He is set to make his Al-Nassr bow on January 19 in a Saudi all-star team against Lionel Messi's Paris Saint-Germain.
