Recalling surprising thing Pep Guardiola said about Martin Odegaard

Martin Odegaard has proven to be one of the best transfers Arsenal have made over the past years.

From arriving on loan to now becoming our captain and one of the most important players on the squad, Odegaard has come a long way.

As per The Sun, Pep Guardiola was reportedly desperate to sign Odegaard back when he managed Bayern Munich.

Norwegian football pundit and former striker Jan Aage Fjortoft relayed Guardiola's message to the Bayern board at the time: "[Pep said] You have to bring that boy [Odegaard] to Munich, you have to bring him to Munich! I will make him the best player in the world!"

Of course, Odegaard ended up joining Real Madrid as a young teen and the rest is history.
