PSG Will Not Honour Messi In Front Of Home Fans After World Cup Win
Paris Saint-Germain boss Christophe Galtier hopes Lionel Messi will receive a good reception from supporters on his return from domestic football after winning the 2022 FIFA World Cup.
Messi led Argentina to defeat France in the World Cup final via penalties, scoring two goals in regular time while fellow teammate Kylian Mbappe netted a hat-trick for the losing team.
According to Sportskeeda, Galtier has now confirmed that PSG will not hold any special reception for Messi in front of the PSG supporters at Parc des Princes in honour of Mess’s World Cup feat.
‘A celebration in his next game at the Park? We'll see when it's his next game, but there is no demand and need for Leo to be celebrated. I dare to hope that he will be celebrated by our supporters, there's no reason not to.’
Messi returned to PSG training after lavish festivities in Buenos Aires and was greeted with a guard of honour from his teammates, coaches, and Training Center personnel.
