Pep Guardiola: Mikel Arteta would be Man City manager if I left
During a recent press conference, Pep Guardiola was asked if Mikel Arteta could have succeeded him as Manchester City boss.
"I am pretty sure if I would have left before, he would be here and he would be the best, absolutely," replied the Spaniard.
"But I extended the contract, I am sorry, and he didn't wait, so it could not happen, but definitely [he could have been City manager]."
The Arsenal boss was Guardiola's assistant manager at the Etihad before taking charge of our club.
There have been ups and downs but Arteta has clearly learnt from the best, considering he's guiding us to our first-ever Premier League title since 2004.
