Manchester United have revealed that Wout Weghorst will wear the no. 27 jersey at the club.
Alex Telles, Marouane Fellaini, Federico Macheda, Mikael Silvestre, Terry Cooke, Gary Neville among others donned this shirt in the past.
But Weghorst has never worn no.27 before in his career. The Dutch forward was no.28 in his first two seasons with Emmen before switching to no.9, which he was also allocated at VfL Wolfsburg, AZ Alkmaar and Burnley. Wout wore no.19 at Heracles Almelo, and no.10 at Besiktas.
United made Weghorst their second signing of the January transfer window, having landed Jack Butland earlier in the month.
