Man Utd boss Erik ten Hag to test players discipline of with luxurious Las Vegas trip
Man United have never visited Las Vegas while in the United States but will play a game at the Allegiant Stadium against an unnamed Premier League rival.
The stadium is home to NFL franchise the Las Vegas Raiders, so it'll be a financial success. According to the Daily Star, Ten Hag is happy to take his players there for another reason.
He wants to test how players will behave in Las Vegas, also known as 'Sin City' and 'The City that Never Sleeps' due to the city's glitz and glamour.
Ten Hag won't stand for any United players attempting to treat the trip as a holiday. The former Ajax boss is strict, as Marcus Rashford found out last month.
Rashford overslept and missed a team meeting prior to a game away at Wolverhampton Wanderers. The 25-year-old started the game on the bench as punishment before coming on to score the winner in the second half.
United defender Luke Shaw delved into Ten Hag's methods last month and conceded players were able to get away with whatever they wanted under previous regimes.
"At a top club like this, it has to be like that," the full-back told BT Sport. "I think that people can't do whatever they want and maybe that's been part of the problem in the past with people getting away with silly little things.
"The manager takes all of that into consideration. Like you've seen today, if you're not keeping the standards high then you won't play."
United return to action against Nottingham Forest in the second leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final on Wednesday evening. They enter the game 3-0 up after a dominant victory at the City Ground five days ago.
