Man United Now Only English Team Firmly In Four Competitions After City’s Elimination From Carabao Cup
Manchester United are currently the only English team firmly in four competitions following Man City's elimination from the Carabao Cup.
City, who were the competition's defending champions were sent packing on Wednesday night, January 11, after a 2-0 shock defeat to Southampton.
Two first-half goals from Sekou Mara and Moussa Djenepo were enough to help the Saints see off City in the quarterfinal clash.
According to ESPN, City's exit from the tournament now leaves Man United as the only English team challenging for four trophies this season.
Which competitions are Man United in?
The Red Devils are still firmly in the Carabao Cup, FA Cup, Premier League, and the Europa League.
United booked a spot in the semi-finals of the Carabao Cup earlier in the week after beating Charlton Athletic 3-0 in the last eight.
In the FA Cup, the Old Trafford dwellers are in the fourth round of the competition and are scheduled to face Reading for a chance to progress to the next round.
