'It's getting worse and worse': Arteta gives worrying update on Partey after Man City loss

“He had some discomfort and it was getting worse and worse,” Mikel Arteta said when reporters asked about the extent of injury Thomas Partey suffered against Man City.

“He was uncomfortable to continue. [Saturday] or the day after he will have an MRI scan and see what he has. We have at the moment the injury of Mo [Elneny]. It is not possible to get him fit. [Albert] Sambi has come in and has done well.

“It is true Thomas is a big influence and a big personality and in the second half we didn't have him.”

Arsenal were eliminated out of the FA Cup after a 1-0 loss to ManCity, but the team will feel a great sense of loss should the injury to Partey be as serious as feared . It is yet to be confirmed when Partey will return to full fitness after suffering the injury.
