"He Is In The Country That Beat Argentina": Piers Morgan Launches Defence for ‘Finished’ Al Nassr Signing Ronaldo

Piers Morgan has launched a spirited defence for Cristiano Ronaldo, who has been labelled

Piers Morgan has launched a spirited defence for Cristiano Ronaldo, who has been labelled 'finished' after his transfer to Al-Nassr.

Ronaldo's odd yet lucrative switch to the Saudi Arabian club has seen many raise questions about his ambition, while others believe his time as a professional footballer is done.

Morgan however, who is a devout Ronaldo fan, sees nothing wrong with the Portuguese forward's move to the Middle East.

In his estimation, the renowned British broadcaster believes that Ronaldo's move is an outstanding feat at the age of 38, and dubbed it the biggest transfer deal in football history, Sportskeeda reports.

How did Morgan defend CR7?

The British journalist responded to a Twitter user, who asked for his thoughts on the Portuguese star's apparently nosediving career.

As expected, Morgan disagreed and suggested Ronaldo's transfer to Saudi Arabia was a step in the right direction considering his age.

"Last time I checked, Cristiano had just signed the biggest transfer deal in football history to become the world’s highest-paid athlete at the age of 38, playing in the only country to beat World Champions Argentina in the World Cup. That’s my kinda ‘finished'."

Ronaldo's much-anticipated Al-Nassr debut is now expected to come in a showcase match with Messi's Paris Saint-Germain in Riyadh on January 19, per Sky Sports.

 Morgan confident Ronaldo is GOAT

Renowned broadcaster Morgan has produced a 'large sheet of facts', to prove that Ronaldo is a better footballer than Messi.

The Argentine veteran was in sensational form in Qatar, as he captained his country to FIFA World Cup glory.

Despite Messi's sterling display at the Mundial, Morgan remains convinced it is Ronaldo who should be labelled the 'Greatest of All Time'.
