Guardiola: 'Rashford was offside. It's not easy for referees at Old Trafford'
Reacting to United's equalizer against City in the Premier League on Saturday, Guardiola said: "[Marcus] Rashford was offside, he distracted our keeper and defenders."
Speaking further, the Spaniard said: "We know where we play [Old Trafford]. For the referees, it is not easy."
United left it late to record another famous victory over their city rivals, with Erik ten Hag’s men now just one point behind City.
The visitors took the lead roughly 15 minutes into the first half. United struggled to get themselves back into the game but an opportunist pass from Casemiro sparked the start of a tumultuous five-minute period.
It looked like Casemiro was aiming for Rashford but the red-hot winger quickly realised that he was offside, leaving the ball for Fernandes who calmly slotted it past Ederson.
The goal was immediately disallowed by the on-pitch referee but after consulting the linesman and, presumably, VAR, the goal was approved.
