First season wonder: Lewandowski set to surpass goal record set by Suarez, Eto'o

Robert Lewandowski is about to smash the record number of goals scored by a Barcelona striker in their debut season if he keeps scoring at this rate - 0.95 goals per game.

The Polish striker has already scored 22 goals in his first 23 games for Barca in his first season. Thus, he's equalled Zlatan Ibrahimovic's record of 22 goals in his first season at Barca despite playing half as many games.

With three more goals, Lewy will beat Luis Suarez's record of 25 goals and with seven more goals he will surpass Samuel Eto'o's record of 29 in his first Barca season.

Here's what the scoring chat looks like for some of Barca's top strikers in their first season:

As you can see, Lewandowski would need to score 25 more goals to beat Ronaldo Nazario's incredible scoring record in his first and only Barca season back in 1996/97.

David Villa only scored 23 goals in his first season which means his record is almost behind Lewy's at this point.

Lewandowski is averaging almost a goal per game and we wouldn't put it past him to surpass the 40-goal mark this season.
