Emiliano Martinez Buys £20,000 Guard Dog To Protect His World Cup Winners Medal
Argentina goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez is fiercely protecting his World Cup winner's medal, by reportedly splashing £20,000 for a guard dog.
The 30-year-old played an important role in Argentina's World Cup triumph, including a last gasp save, which could have swung the game in favour of France.
He equally made an excellent stop during penalty shootouts, while his intimidating presence likely caused Aurelien Tchouameni to miss the target.
Since his heroics and subsequent World Cup win, Martinez has been the subject of controversy for a series of uncalled-for antics in the name of celebrating.
However, Martinez is making sure his winners medal is guarded at all costs, by purchasing a fearsome canine protector for his Midlands house.
According to a report filed by the Daily Star, the Golden Glove winner has paid £20k for a specially-trained Belgian Malinois.
The English media outlet claims that the dog can weigh up to 30 kilograms and has been used by US Navy Seals and the SAS in combat.
