Chelsea's total spend on defenders this season breaks £200M mark — 25 goals conceded in 27 games
Following the signing of Benoit Badiashile from Monaco this week, Chelsea have now spent £210m on defenders alone this season.
Here's a breakdown of the Blues' spending in defence so far
Wesley Fofana from Leicester City - £75m
Marc Cucurella from Brighton - £63m
Kalidou Koulibaly from Napoli - £34m
Badiashile from Monaco - £38m
Despite Chelsea's huge spending in defence, the Blues have still managed to ship in 25 goals from their 27 games played so far.
Hopefully, the money being spent on their defence pays off in the end. For now, that's not been the case.
