Chelsea Injury Woes Deepens As Edouard Mendy Undergoes Surgery For New Injury
In an unfortunate twist of fate, Edouard Mendy has suffered a broken finger in training which required surgery.
Chelsea have confirmed that Mendy has undergone successful surgery in London to correct the problem.
A statement from the club reads: "Edouard Mendy has undergone an operation on a fractured finger sustained in training this week. Come back stronger, Edou!"
Mendy returned from the World Cup with a shoulder problem that took two weeks to heal. The big goalie eventually returned to training late last week but fractured his finger this week in training.
Chelsea have 10 players nursing various injuries, including the Senegalese goalkeeper.
