Chelsea Confirm The Signing of Atletico Madrid Star Joao Felix

Chelsea have finally announced the signing of Atletico Madrid star, Joao Felix on loan.

The Portugal international is set to spend the remainder of the 2022/23 season with the struggling Premier League side.

Felix had widely been linked with a move to the English top flight, with Manchester United and Arsenal initially thought to be the leading contenders for his services.

However, Chelsea have now snapped him up - albeit temporarily - with reports suggesting the West Londoners will cater for his entire wage packaet during his stay at the club.

Chelsea announces Felix's arrival

Felix's arrival was confirmed by the Blues on Thursday, January 11, with the club announcing:

"Portuguese attacker Joao Felix will be part of the Chelsea squad for the remainder of the season, having moved to Stamford Bridge on loan from Atletico Madrid." <

Speaking on his move, Felix told the club's official website:

"Chelsea is one of the great teams in the world and I hope to help the team reach their objectives, so I am very, very happy to be here and very excited to play at Stamford Bridge."

Meanwhile, the 23-year-old's arrival comes at a time when the Blues are enduring a poor run of form, with the team currently placed 10th in the Premier League standings.
