Carragher tells Bellingham why Liverpool move would be better for him than joining Real Madrid this summer

Speaking on Sky Sports, Jamie Carragher argued that it would be too early for Jude Bellingham to go to Real Madrid next summer.

“If I was Jude Bellingham, if you go to Real Madrid now, where do you go from Real Madrid?" he said.

"It almost feels like if you were leaving Real Madrid, you were taking a step down in some ways. For me, I think he should sign for an English club on a five or six-year year deal and then go to Real Madrid."

Carragher did not specify which English club he'd recommend Bellingham to join. Given his Liverpool connections, however, the answer is pretty obvious.

The Reds' interest in the Borussia Dortmund midfielder is an open secret, but this will be a tough battle for his signing, with Man City also very much in the race.
