'Barcelona Will Always Be My Home': Dani Olmo
"I played there for six years when I was young," Leipzig forward Dani Olmo told Bild when asked what he felt about Barcelona, as quoted by Sport.
"It will always be home to me. Many of my friends from the national team play there."
"I want to go back at some point, it would be great," the 24-year-old added about La Liga.
"Spain is my country, my league. My family and friends live there. But I'm not just tied to Spain. The most important thing for me is to play for a club where I feel loved and important."
Olmo has been consistently linked with Barcelona in the past couple of years. The move was understood to be close back in the Koeman era as the Dutchman specifically asked for the forward. The transfer fell through as the Catalans were broke at that time.
The Spaniard joined Barca's academy aged nine but made a surprise move to Dinamo Zagreb when he was 16. He broke into the Croatian side's first team and earned a move to Leipzig in 2020.
Olmo is a regular starter for Spain, making 29 appearances and scoring five goals for La Furia Roja.
