Barcelona reportedly considers selling Club TV to solve financial problems: explained
The fact that Barcelona have been unable to register Gavi's new contract again highlights the fact that the financial problems at Camp Nou at far from over.
According to Cadena SER, the Catalans have a wage bill of €656m and need to cut it down to €450-500m ahead of the next season to comply with the regulations.
Activating more levers won't solve the club's issues, and they currently have two ways out: departures and cutting losses.
Thus, the club considers selling Barca TV (partially or entirely) which generates a loss of around €6m annually. The studios will be operated by a third party until June, and the Catalans are already considering selling it once they regain full control.
Additionally, there is also a lawsuit that Barca filed against La Liga to be able to use 15% of the €600m loaned by Goldman Sachs to expand the salary caps.
