Barcelona goalkeeper Ter Stegen targets La Liga's 1993/94 record
German goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen has conceded just 6 goals in the first 18 league games this campaign.
According to Mundo Deportivo, the German shot stopper is just one clean sheet away from coming on equal ground the record of Francisco Liano from back in the 1993/94 season when the Deportivo La Coruna goalkeeper let in just 6 goals in the first half of the season.
However, Ter Stegen is in contention to win the Zamora Trophy (best La Liga goalkeeper) with the best goal-per-game coefficient ever. The current record holders are Liano and Jan Oblak (0.47) who conceded 18 goals in 28 games.
To surpass that record , the Barcelona goalkeeper will have to concede no more than 11 goals in the final 20 league games.
The German is yet to win his first Zamora Trophy.
