'10 Games Without A Win In Each Of His First 2 Brighton Seasons': Journalist Reminds Fans To Be Patient With Potter
Graham Potter has had a terrible start to his Chelsea career and there is no denying that. Chelsea sit in 10th place on the league table, 10 points behind 4th place and 10 points outside the relegation zone.
According to reports, the owners still fully back the manager and will afford him the time that is required to make this team his own.
The Athletic's Brighton correspondent, Andy Naylor brought up an important point for fans to remember when gauging Potter's potential:
"Graham Potter went 10 games without a win in each of his first two seasons at Brighton.
"Significant improvement came in his third season onwards. He's a slow burner. It takes time for players to really grasp his ideas.
"Chelsea will be fine if the owners don't blink in the noise," wrote Naylor.
Now Chelsea isn't Brighton and the standards set by previous managers at the club are way higher than what was expected of Potter at Brighton.
However, looking at the seriously diminished squad at Potter's disposal due to injuries, along with his first transfer window not even half-way through, it would be hard to definitively ascertain that Potter will not be a success at Chelsea.
