Zidane set to miss out on dream job - he's been without work for 18 months
Zinedine Zidane has been out of work since May 2021 when he left Real Madrid. As per reports, the coach's dream was to take over France after the 2022 World Cup. However, it seems like this will not happen.
According to Le Parisien (4 stars), France's current coach Didier Deschamps has decided to continue with Les Bleus until Euro 2024.
Previously, the French Football Federation president said that Deschamps would be free to decide his own future as long as the team reached the World Cup 2022 semi-finals, which they have done by beating England 2-1 on Saturday.
Apparently, the current coach wants to lead France to a Euro victory after losing the final to Portugal in 2016.
As for Zidane, he had an offer from PSG last summer but he decided to wait for the opportunity to coach Les Bleus. With Deschamps set to continue, perhaps will see Zizou return to club football in the near future.
