Vahid Halilhodzic Slams Morocco For Sacking Him Despite World Cup Qualification
Bosnian professional football manager Vahid Halilhodzic has stated emphatically that he will not forgive Moroccan football chiefs for sacking him before the 2022 World Cup.
Halilhodzic qualified the Atlas Lions for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, but the 70-year-old was fired three months to the competition and was replaced with Walid Regragui.
Those in charge of Morocco football activities were not pleased with how Halihodzic fell out with some players including Hakim Ziyech.
In fact, Ziyech was forced to announce his retirement from international football due to the issue he had with Halihodzic.
According to the report on GOAL, Halihodzic made it clear that Morocco betrayed him by showing him the exit doors.
Statement made by Halihodzic
''These words cannot wash away my bitterness, and cannot make up for what I missed with this tournament.
"They took away my pride, I can't forget or forgive them. Because it was also supposed to be my farewell to my coaching career. That's all I can say on the subject."
Meanwhile, Walid Regragui did not disappoint Morocco and Africans as he steered the Atlas Lions to the semi-final of the 2022 World Cup.
