"That Is What Fernandes Needs":Evra Suggests Ronaldo limited Fernandes Influence At United

Cristiano Ronaldo continues to catch strays from around Manchester United, despite leaving the club after his contract was terminated by mutual consent following an explosive interview with Piers Morgan. 

United have recorded two competitive wins over Burnley, in the Carabao Cup and Nottingham Forest, in the Premier League since club football returned in England after the Qatar 2022 World Cup break. 

The latest win against newly promoted side Nottingham Forest has pushed Patrice Evra to praise Bruno Fernandes's impact, while claiming Cristiano Ronaldo's presence at the club limited his countryman's influence in the team. 

Evra was one of those who convinced Ronaldo to return to Old Trafford after it emerged, he was considering a move to United's city rivals Manchester City, as revealed by Manchester Evening News. 

The former France international was on punditry with Amazon Prime Video for the win over Forest and was quoted by Goal, saying Fernandes is back as boss after Ronaldo's departure.

 ''Bruno Fernandes has to be the main man and you can feel it now Ronaldo is not here anymore and you can feel that he is the boss again. He is the one taking the free-kicks, the one taking the corner kicks and I am.

Evra's comments appear a bit off the mark, as the former Sporting attacker is yet to have an attacking return in the two games after the World Cup. 

He failed to hit the target against Nottingham, he failed at his three dribbles and lost possession 21 times, committed more fouls than he was fouled and won just 40% of his ground duels.
