Retired Enock Mwepu Appointed As Academy Coach At Brighton & Hove Albion
Brighton & Hove Albion, which is a Premier League side, have announced the appointment of former Zambian professional footballer, Enock Mwepu as the new coach for their academy.
This is a new development in the career of the 24-year-old Mwepu, who was forced to retire from football due to health issues.
According to official statement made by Brighton on their website, they stated that Mwepu would be in charge of their Under-9 side.
Coach Roberto De Zerbi also expressed joy about the club's decision to hire Mwepu, as the coach in charge of children's football development.
De Zerbi's statement on Mwepu's appointment as U9 coach
“We’re really happy that Enock has decided to remain here at our club and use his experience to help develop our young players."
De Zerbi says despite Mwepu being young, he has a wealth of experience to offer.
"He has played in the Champions League and Premier League, as well as captaining his country. This is the next chapter for Enock in his footballing career.”
