Pele Once Revealed Why He'd Play For Barca In Modern Era Of Football

In an interview from back in 2014, Pele was asked which club he would play for in the modern era. His answer will melt the heart of every Barcelona fan.

"If you were to ask me about teams from now, from modern football, I could name two or three teams. But at this moment, I would say Barcelona. It's same style that Santos used to play," the football legend told Time.

Considering the brand of attacking football Barca were playing in 2014, Pele would've fit right in! Unfortunately, Europe did not have the pleasure to watch Pele kick the football week in and week out.

The King spent the majority of his career in Brazil, playing for Santos between 1956 and 1974. Then followed a two-year spell in the USA at New York Cosmos, after which the forward announced his retirement.
