Liverpool makes first contact with Benfica over Enzo Fernandez
Liverpool have made their first contact with Benfica over the possibility of signing Enzo Fernandez in 2023, that's according to Record in Portugal, who also broke the Darwin Nunez to Liverpool story.
Fernandez is one of the breakout stars at the World Cup with his quality shining brighter with every game he plays in Qatar for Argentina.
Liverpool needs a midfielder in 2023 and Bellingham has been named the Reds' priority. However, Fernandez is another tantalizing prospect given his ability as a box-to-box midfielder.
His eye for goal hasn't gone unnoticed too, he already bagged a goal for Argentina at the World Cup and managed three more for Benfica this season before the big tournament.
Benfica may try to stop the 21-year-old from leaving this winter, but they will surely struggle to hold on to such a brilliant player.
His buyout clause stands at €120m, as quoted on Transfermarkt.
